for Seth

For some reason, this is the first time these lyrics in the song “Circles” by Incubus jumped out at me, and I think they apply to what you’re finally being able to do with M the B.

I saw you standing in
My headlights
Blink blink blink
I thought I’d run you down
For the weight you left on me
instead I pushed rewind
Reversed and drove away
And see you
Disappear in my rearview
Brought to me the word
Reciprocity

some dreams take so long/don’t ever let go/we’ve come too far/to give up and go home

My Epiphany, why did you have to leave me with this beautiful, amazing album (Mirabilia) and then BREAK UP?!

D’:

I write songs.

My lyrics are usually pretty lame, and you might think that these are too, but I love this song. I wrote it for Andy in September of 2008. <3 Not to mention, it’s one of the only songs I’ve actually successfully put to guitar music as well. haha. Let me know what you think.

And I’m screaming I love you
with every single touch
and you’ll never hear enough of it
‘cause the words don’t say as much
as what I’m feeling
it’s ridiculous
this passion burns for you
and I’m screaming I love you
with everything I do

I want you to know that you’ll always get the best of me
the best of me
and nobody else will ever get the rest of me
the rest of me
‘cause I’ve torn down these walls for you and let you in
let you in and now I’m

Screaming I love you
with every single touch
and you’ll never hear enough of it
‘cause the words don’t say as much
as what I’m feeling
it’s ridiculous
this passion burns for you
and I’m screaming I love you
with everything I do

I want you to know that you’ll always get the best of me
the best of me

I lick the gun when I’m done, ‘cause I know that revenge is sweet.

I lay my head onto the sand
the sky resembles a back-lit canopy with holes punched in it
I’m counting UFOs; I signal them with my lighter
and in this moment I am happy, happy

I wish you were here

— Wish You Were Here—Incubus

well well you

you make-a-my dreams come true!

oo oo ooh ooh!

There’s twenty-four parts in a day that divides me from you.

She woke in the morning
She knew that her life had passed her by
She called out a warning:
Don’t ever let life pass you by

If the real thing don’t do the trick,

You better make up something quick!
You gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn it to the wick!
Ooooh, barracuda

AWESOME SONG.

Yeah, ‘cause back home are no floods or tornados

Baby, the sun shines every day

This party is old and uninviting,

participants all in black and white.
You enter in full blown technicolor.
Nothing is the same after tonight.

If the world would fall apart
in a fiction-worthy wind,
I wouldn’t change a thing
now that you’re here.

Your love is a verb
here in my room,
here in my room,
here in my room.

Your love is a verb
here in my room,
here in my room,
here in my room…

You enter and close the door behind you.
Now show me the world as seen from the stars.
If only the lights were dim a little—
I’m weary of eyes upon my scars.

If the world would fall apart
in a fiction-worthy wind,
I wouldn’t change a thing
now that you’re here.

Your love is a verb
here in my room,
here in my room,
here in my room.

Your love is a verb
here in my room,
here in my room,
here in my room…

Pink tractor beam into your incision,
head spinning as free as Dervish’s Whirl.
I came here expecting next to nothing,
so thank you for being that kind of girl, that kind of girl, that kind of girl…

How do you do it?

make me feel like I do
How do you do it?
it’s better than I ever knew
